Description

    The ICT department is one of the most prestigious departments at ENTOTO PTC, having been established in the year 2003 with a small number of trainees. Its main objective is to produce highly skilled and disciplined ICT technicians for the country. At present, the department offers a range of training programs in Hardware and Networking Servicing and Web development & database administration, from l-3 to l-5, in regular, weekend, and extension programs.
    On average, the department produces over 100 graduates each year, with most of them being COC competent by the time they complete their courses. Our graduates are not only knowledgeable but also possess excellent work ethics and a strong drive to succeed.
   In addition to providing regular training, the department also offers short-term courses upon request, specifically to government offices. Our trainers are well-equipped to impart the necessary technological knowledge and skills required by our trainees in their respective workplaces.
   It's worth noting that our department boasts trainers who have been recognized for their excellence in skill and technology competitions at the state level for the past three years. This is a testament to the high caliber of trainers we have, who are dedicated to ensuring that our trainees receive top-notch training that prepares them for the ever-evolving world of ICT.
   Our graduates have gone on to become successful in both governmental and private sectors, which is a testament to the quality of training and skills they received at ENTOTO PTC's ICT department. Our goal is to equip our trainees with the necessary skills and knowledge to become proficient in the field of ICT.

The ICT Department at Entoto PTC provides training in two streams

The duty and responsibility of department Head includes:

  • Leading the department in developing and improving the teaching and learning process with effective leadership.
  • Planning the curriculum, including developing and maintaining schemes of work, in consultation with colleagues such as section heads and other subordinates within the department.
  • Evaluating the performance of trainers and reporting results to the college leadership team.
  • Monitoring and evaluating the teaching and learning process within the department in line with college policy.
  • Recommending appropriate professional development and capacity building for department trainers.
  • The department leadership plays a crucial role in ensuring that the department is effective in its teaching and learning activities.
  • They are responsible for designing and implementing strategies that will improve the quality of the curriculum and the overall performance of the trainers and trainees.
  • They also need to ensure that their trainers are well-trained and equipped to deliver quality training to the trainees.
Our courses cover a wide range of topics, WDDBA
  • including system infrastructure design plans for web and database,
  • project management for web and database,
  • research and application of emerging web technology trends,
  • database administration,
  • object-oriented programming language skills,
  • basic server-side scripting for dynamic web pages,
  • Configuring and using the internet, and basics of application software.
Our courses cover a wide range of topics, HNS
  • include technical support fundamentals,
  • computer components,
  • basics of application software,
  • Operating systems, and becoming a power user. We also teach computer networking, configuring and using the internet, interacting with software, system administration and IT infrastructure services, troubleshooting, and the future of networking. Additionally, we provide training in customer services to ensure that ours.
